This year Moor Threads had a very successful showing of their work at the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch Show at the NEC Birmingham and next year I have been invited back to show my work, which will be inspired by my visits to Uganda. These new works will feature the use of some of their natural materials such as bark cloth, banana fibres and raffia. In addition there will be craft work for sale made by the women from Kisaabwa the community that I am working with in Uganda.

As if this is not enough, another exciting strand to the show, will be a collaboration with shoemaker Janet Middleton of Star Child Shoes. This aspect to the exhibition will be 'art-shoes' all of which will incorporate in some way the bark cloth and which Janet will make up into the shoes. What we would like is to INVITE YOU to participate by having an A4 piece of bark cloth to decorate. This can be done through print, stitch, manipulation, 3 Dimensional ideas, in fact whatever you feel inclined to do. These pieces will then be sent to Janet for the making up into 'art-shoes'. All this is to raise funds for the charity'Hands up for Uganda'.

The shows will be at the end of March 2014 at the NEC in Birmingham and then move on to EXcel, London.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO AT THIS STAGE, BUT BEFORE TUESDAY 18th JUNE IF POSSIBLE IS TO EXPRESS AN INTEREST, BUT DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH IF YOU MISS THIS DEADLINE
Email: bobby@bobbybritnell.co.uk>

Full details will be available by the 20th July.

All ths is all to raise funds, so I am hoping that those of you interested can arrange collection of the bark cloth, rather than me wasting money on postage.

So lets see what you can do with barkcloth, raffia and banana fibres from Kisaabwa.
